The Farmer and the Cowman, Fisher-Style

The farmer and the cowman should be friends.

Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends.

One man likes to push a plough, the other likes to chase a cow,

But that's no reason why they cain't be friends.

Territory folks should stick together.

Territory folks should all be pals.

Cowboys dance with farmers' daughters.

Farmers dance with the ranchers' gals!

Many thanks to my talented friend Emily who took these cowboy pictures of Tobin and, by doing so, inspired this whole post.  Emily, you're a blessing to me!

Many thanks also to Rodgers and Hammerstein for writing such a catchy tune and including it in Oklahoma.  My boys are big fans of you.  ;-)

Oh, this totally reminded me of the time we went to see Oklahoma! many many years ago at HHS. I think that was only 1 of 2 HS plays I've seen, and it was so good I'm still impressed when I think about it today. Thanks for bringing back a fun memory :) (And your boys are awfully cute!)

Adorable! Emily is so talented. I hopped over to her blog and see that she's quite a photographer and blogger. I may have found a new place to visit.

Forgive me if I've asked this question before, but do you scrapbook? I know your blog is a virtual scrapbook, but I am totally picturing these farmer and cowman pics on paper with some farm stickers and the lyrics to that song!

Mary, I don't scrapbook. I tried...once upon a time...a very long time ago...and was terrible. :) After I started blogging, I quickly came to the conclusion that I could--for free (or nearly free)--use my blog as a scrapbook. Getting all the scrapbooking materials that I would have wanted would have cost a pretty penny, so I chose to go this route. Plus, blogging is just so much easier for me.

But yes, I totally agree with your idea about these pictures; what a nice spread that would be!

I'm so jealous of the bare-feet. Oh wait, you have snakes there don't you? Nevermind, I'll take the snow for a little while longer.

I went in search of one of those hand plows once. One shop wanted $40 dollars for one she thought should be used as a lawn ornament. Boo. I thought that was too much.
