One of the boys--surely it was David--made a roster of our family with our well-used Fridge Phonics letters. He did well with it...until he ran out of "A's." That caused a minor problem--see it?
Poor Jeff. It's tough being last. If only David's improvisatory way of spelling "Dad" didn't have such a fatal ring to it! :)
Besides more "A's," the other thing our family needs is a maid...
...someone to go around behind these two whirlwinds and clean up the mayhem they leave behind.
So far, we haven't had too many applications for the job, and so...
...the messes continue.
But at least, they're having fun! Cute little chaos-causers! ;-)

I had to read the magnets 3 times before I saw all the names in there- I kept seeing them as a whole, not as words!
As for the sweet little mess makers, I would have to say that their cuteness far outshines their messiness!
My kitchen used to look like that all the time when my kids were toddlers. They always raided my Tupperware and mixing bowls. Speaking of mixing bowls - I really like those mixing bowls of yours. The ones with the band on the top. I'm assuming they're melamine or something like that? Very cute!
Bonnie - that's so funny about having to read the letters over and over to see the names!
Amber - yes, those mixing bowls are melamine. I saw them in a discount store about five years ago and loved them because they reminded me of my grandmother's old set of bowls. Except hers were breakable... It's a good thing mine aren't!! :)
oo that is hilarious! Both the Ded and the chaos makers! I have those same nesting mixing bowls (with the orange, tan, green, red etc.) :-)
Davene - I'm so happy to see that someone else's floor frequently looks like mine! Isn't the way children "improvise" toys wonderful? My Janie does this all the time. She's especially fond of carrying around my small frying pans. Ha!

I'm so thankful your cup has overflowed into another blog, and not, as I feared when I began your last post on Sylvan Drive, onto a surface to which I am not privy!
I too love those mixing bowls and thought they looked exactly like a ceramic set I've always admired at Pottery Barn (or perhaps Crate and Barrel?). I was wondering how you managed to keep them from smashing on the tile! The melamine is also much lighter than the ceramic, I would think, which helps while pouring cake and muffin batter. And of course, most importantly, makes a much better toy!
Well, I'm always overwhelmingly impressed with how well the maid does at your house! I guess you must be the maid. Anyway, I'm glad your little ones are having so much fun. I think you'll discover the huge delights of having two little people so close in age. Paul and Hannah never cease to amaze me at how well they play together.
I think my two boys are about the same as your youngest two (John is almost 4 and Isaac is careening towards 2). That definitely looks like what my kitchen looks like on a regular basis---John likes to make "recipes" using my cooking things. The hard part is keeping him from putting real ingredients into it. :)
That age is so much fun and it's been such a blessing to watch my boys learn how to play together.
I agree! I've advertised several times for a maid to no avail. It's tough to find someone who's willing to work for free ;P That "Ded" bit was hilarious :)
BTW, I posted back to you about the pianist thing and nail polish...
My kitchen used to look like that, too (and parts of it still does - you should see what Elizabeth calls the "art center"), but I was always okay as long as the kids were entertained! I tried to make hay while the sun was shining and clean or cook (but not clean that area, of course).
