13 years separate my oldest and my youngest son, both of whom were born on the 13th day of their respective birth months. Some might think 13 is an unlucky number, but I beg to differ. :)
13 years is quite a gap, but it warms my heart to see how tender Josiah is with his littlest brother. He is kind and capable; and when I need a set of arms to hold Benjamin at a moment's notice, I know I can turn to Josiah for help. From time to time, we talk about how, when Josiah is old enough to drive, he'll be able to take Benjamin out for ice cream or various other activities, and how fun and special that will be. But Josiah blew me away a few weeks ago when he said that after he graduates from high school, maybe he could take a year off before college so he could stay at home and help me homeschool Benjamin. :) I know that many things may change between now and then, but the mere fact of Josiah suggesting that made my heart sing. It is a wondrous thing to watch my children love and care for each other.
These boys--these bookends on our family--are unspeakably precious to me.
These are so precious! Melt you heart. I love seeing teenage boys with babies.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's quite a statement! You do have some very kind, respectful and mature boys, so I shouldn't be surprised. We love your family!
