When Reading about Holland...

...it's a good idea to build a windmill.  So we did.
Well, they did - my three oldest sons.  I read aloud while they built, and everyone was happy.  :)

The book we were reading was The Winged Watchman by Hilda van Stockum.  It's part of our Sonlight history curriculum for this year (I love finding great children's/young adult books that I've never read before; and Sonlight is a wonderful source for that!) and tells the story of a Dutch family during the last year of World War II.  It just so happens that the family lives in a windmill, and so...

...we built windmills.
Well, they did.  ;-)
