Jeff Is the Sun...

...and our four boys are planets, revolving around him.
Whenever Jeff is home, they want to know where he is and what he's doing; and unless something very enticing pulls them away, they want to be with him.
If he's working in the garden, they're heading out the door behind him.  If he's in the garage trying to fix the leaky fish tank, they traipse out there to find him.  If he's relaxing on the couch, they are climbing all over him.  If he spots a rabbit outside and grabs his crossbow to try to get off a shot, they're making a parade behind him, eager to see the action.  Even if he's just trying to slip away and take a relaxing bath in peace and quiet, at least one of the boys is sure to be there, sitting on the stool watching him or stripping off his clothes so he can climb in, too!  This daddy is loved!  ;-)
It's no different when he plays chess.  There's no such thing as simply sitting down with Josiah to play a chess game.  One boy watches eagerly and wants to play Daddy next.  Another boy wants to be handed the pieces as they're conquered so he can have his own war off to the side.  Another boy wants to sit in Daddy's lap.  They all want to be close to him and involved in his world.

Yes, Jeff is a bright sun; and his gravitational pull is a force that holds all of us together.  And as Moriah grows up, I have no doubt that she'll be another little planet, revolving around her beloved daddy.  :)

  2. Praise God for daddies like Jeff! The world needs more of them. I'm sure your sons will follow in his footsteps one day.

My girls also run to the door with grins and hugs when Daddy gets home from work everyday. ;0)
