  4. So, the story. :)

I actually took this picture on Dec. 31, when we were downtown watching Jeff and Josiah run a 5K (that's another post that will hopefully be coming shortly). For winter, it was actually a fairly warm, mild day; but it was still chilly. And we had just walked quite a ways (from the barber shop to the farmer's market pavilion, for you locals) so we could watch the race. Plus, it was when we would normally be at home having quiet time/nap time. Tobin was tired...and chilly...and bored...and just plain grumpy. I had taken along my "bag of tricks" so I pulled out various entertainment items as needed: books, squishy balls, lollipops, etc. The only thing that he was interested in was the lollipops. :) At some point in the afternoon, I saw this tear just as it slid down his cheek; and since I had my camera handy to record the action of the race, I simply pointed and shot...and captured his tear.

I usually only post happy pictures of my boys; but of course, sadness is part of life, too. To me, his face is so expressive and his eye is so beautiful that I wanted to remember this moment.

    Thanks for asking! :)

  5. Such a sweet sentimental photo Davene and I love the story behind it :) I have been meaning to comment on all the previous posts, but I have been a little more mobile using only my phone to read your blog lately that I have a harder time leaving you a comment. I wanted to tell you though that I am faithfully reading every post and OH do I enjoy everyone of them..... and cannot wait for the next one to be published :)

    Happy New Year Davene!
