Welcome to my new little corner of cyberspace! I'm honored--truly--that you've taken the time to drop by. I'm assuming that most of you have come over from my previous blog, Life on Sylvan Drive. If that's true for you, then you likely already know a great deal about me. Regardless of whether you're an old friend or new, I appreciate you taking a moment out of your day to spend here with me.
To say thank you and to celebrate this new venture, I'm giving away a $20 gift certificate to Christianbook.com; and all you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post or on the last post at my previous blog. I'll draw a winner on Friday, January 21, so make sure I have an email address for you so I can send you your gift electronically, if you happen to be the winner!
Beginnings are exciting. I stand here at the doorway of this new blog, peering through the mist to try to envision what lies ahead. Who can tell? One can, that's for certain; but as I walk forward, one step at a time, I only see vague shapes and shadows of what the future holds. Whatever it may be, however, whether joyful or painful, I have a feeling this blog will hear about it.
Why? Because...
Whoa! I didn't know people changed blogs, ended a blog, or whatever. So, what will become of the old one? Will you get it all printed out and then it will be gone? Will it exist in cyberspace until the end of time?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new blog. I know it will be a blessing. I'm going to have to get used to it. I've grown so accustomed to Life on Sylvan Drive, and loved it so much, that this is literally a jolt. I mean, don't go changing things on us, the content, I mean. Don't change who you are and the wonderful things you blog about.
Have fun spilling words for us here!
I just had to come over and see what this was all about. I for one can attest to the need for change. Change can be a wonderful thing! Just wanted to let you know I am glad you are still around. Your writings are some of my favorite and I look forward to each new post. And "Spilled" LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteAwww Davene! This new venture IS so exciting, & I can't wait to see what's to come on Davene Spilled. I appreciate the metaphor also! : )
ReplyDelete*If my comment makes no sense, that's because my brain is fried.*

When I arrived to your old blog and saw that you were saying goodbye, my stomach dropped! Whew, that was a scare! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new blog and look! Makes me want to start a fresh one :P
I commented back on my blog about your generous offer to house us if we are ever passing through. Now if the option of driving does come up, I will be pushing for it! I would just love to meet you in person as well as the family.
Much love Davene!
Davene...what a lovely new idea for your blog!! Thanks for all the encouragement your "spilling" pours forth on us :)
ReplyDeleteYippee! I've been waiting for the unveiling of this new project since you first alluded to it months ago. And now it's finally here! I can't wait to hear what's "spilling".
ReplyDeleteWell, here I am. I followed you right over. It was a pretty quick click of the mouse, and here I am. I am excited to see what you share here!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH. What a huge, huge surprise. I can't wait to see what follows! I'm stunned and amazed. This is amazing! And now, I'll poke around this new blog a bit...
ReplyDelete(And if I win the gift certificate, I'm getting one of Walter Wangerin's books. He's my new favorite Christian author. Ever heard of him?)
how fun! love the new blog. :)
ReplyDeleteFriends, you are so kind! I would write even if no one read it because I need to write for my own processing of thoughts and emotions; but wow, how inspiring all of you are and how much more fun it is to begin this new venture with you. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMargie, I have heard of Walter Wangerin; and in fact, I'm almost certain that I once read The Book of God by him. It's been a while, apparently! Which book(s) of his are you reading? As always, I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the books you read. :)
Well, I just found you because you found me first! So, can I enter? Blessings!
ReplyDeleteHey can I enter to win that certificate?! I want $20 for CBD!
ReplyDeleteAmber, yes, you can enter!!
ReplyDeleteJeff, no, you can NOT enter!! But I think you're the best anyway. ;-)
Mr J. Fisher: this is a formal warning: this is ladies' corner (well, at least visitor's corner!) and so that definitely means you don't qualify.....!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm updating my blog list so I won't miss any of your posts. I really like the clean look and easy-on-the-eyes wide center column. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your words spilled out here. ;0)
beautiful new blog - love the name! :)
ReplyDeleteAre you a lefty??? I had no idea..... :)
ReplyDeleteI adored, cherished, hungered daily for the readings in his Advent devotional called Preparing for Jesus. I'm reading a book called Miz Lil and the Chronicles of Grace right now, and have ordered the Lenten devotional. Would love to read more. And yes, the Book of God is by him; hoping to snag a copy sometime this year.
